Volunteer / Opportunities

We have recently received several questions and interest from our community about volunteering on the farm.

After much thought and consideration, we are interested in offering volunteer opportunities for our community. There are opportunities for volunteers of all skill levels. Including animal care and husbandry, cleaning calf stalls, feeding calves, gardening, planting and weeding of flower or vegetable beds, and even social media outreach, just to name a few. There is also a need for assistance with general building-type activities, possibly carpentry, building, and painting activities.

For safety reasons, volunteers must be 14 or older.

Volunteer Groups

Please note in the Volunteer Interest Form the type of groups, as well as how many may want to attend. We can possibly plan/schedule something that fits your needs. However, at this time, we cannot accommodate groups larger than 8, and we would ask that an adult also be present with your volunteer group.

Tips for Volunteers

We suggest wearing clothing and boots or closed-toe shoes that you do not mind getting dirty. Consider bringing gloves and dress appropriately for outdoor work. We offer bottled water for our volunteers; if you plan to stay longer and would like to bring a snack or lunch for yourself, that is suggested as well. Depending on the weather on your volunteer day, you may want a raincoat, sunscreen, or bug spray.

Volunteer Interest Form

Please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form and be sure to include the days/times and chosen area of interest. We will then reach out to schedule a visit so we can meet you. Introduce you to our farm family and give you some background and history of our little farm. We will also require signing a General Liability Waiver, releasing Pleasant Ridge Farms, LLC from any liability regarding any injury or damages that may occur as a result of your volunteering with us.
